Formal Gardens

The formal gardens retain the structure and style shaped during the early 20th-century transformation by Major Nobel and architect Albert Randall Wells. Features reflected in historic images include:

  • Stone pathways and terraces
  • Traditional planting schemes
  • Views across lawns toward the Court’s west elevation
  • Garden areas once connected to the walled garden and Serpentine Wall

These areas offer peaceful spaces for residents and preserve the aesthetic continuity of the original design.
